The core value of the ADM6315 lies in its ‘configurability’. Traditional monitoring ICs often have only fixed thresholds and fixed delays, forcing engineers to compromise on device parameters when selecting components; In terms of reset thresholds, this series covers 24 levels ranging from 2.32 V to 4.63 V in 100 mV increments, with corresponding models available for everything from common supply rails such as 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.0 V, 3.3 V and 5 V to more demanding scenarios approaching 4.63 V. Threshold accuracy is as high as ±1.5 per cent at +25°C and ±2.5 per cent over the full temperature range, which is sufficient to meet the reset threshold requirements of most digital systems.

The ADM6315 offers four reset delay settings: 1 ms, 20 ms, 140 ms and 1120 ms. The 1 ms setting is suitable for processors requiring rapid wake-up, whilst the 1120 ms setting allows sufficient stabilisation time for systems with slow power-up. Manual reset is an optional feature, provided via a dedicated pin for convenient debugging or panel operation. The watchdog timeout period also offers four selectable settings: 1.6 s, 100 ms, 6.4 s and 25.6 s. The 100 ms setting is suitable for real-time control applications requiring rapid detection of runaway programmes, whilst the 25.6 s setting provides a margin for slow-cycling tasks.
