Silicon Labs Bluetooth Chips: Focusing on Low Power Consumption and High Security, Suitable for Wireless Connectivity Across All Scenarios
Silicon Labs Bluetooth chips offer core advantages of low power consumption, high integration and strong interference resistance. They cover a range of technologies including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Mesh, whilst integrating the Secure Vault™ advanced security engine to meet communication requirements across diverse scenarios. The Bluetooth chips currently available from Mingjiada Electronics are primarily divided into three major series, each with clearly defined positioning and distinctive features.

 

(1) Next-Generation Bluetooth SoC Series
As Silicon Labs’ next-generation wireless chip platform, this series delivers comprehensive upgrades in computational performance, RF performance, power management and security protection. It is specifically designed for mid-to-high-end smart devices and is particularly suited to scenarios requiring complex data processing and concurrent multi-protocol operation.
- The SiBG301 Series 3 Bluetooth SoCs are Bluetooth SoCs optimised for mains-powered smart devices, primarily suited to applications such as LED lighting, smart sockets and switches. This series utilises an ARM Cortex-M33 core operating at up to 150MHz, paired with a dedicated RF core and security engine. It features up to 4MB of flash memory and 512KB of RAM, supporting the stable operation of Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Mesh and proprietary protocols.

 

(2) Bluetooth SoC/Module Series
This series is Silicon Labs’ highest-volume Bluetooth chip range, offering a balance of performance and cost-effectiveness to meet a wide range of requirements from entry-level to mid-to-high-end applications. It is widely used in consumer electronics, medical devices, asset tracking and other scenarios. Mingjiada Electronics maintains ample stock, supporting rapid delivery of small-batch samples and large-volume procurement.
- EFR32BG29 Series: An ultra-compact, low-power Bluetooth SoC featuring 1MB of flash memory and 256KB of RAM. It supports DC-DC boost functionality, is compatible with various battery types, and operates at a minimum voltage of 1.2V.
- EFR32BG22 Series: A Bluetooth 5.4 SoC designed for low-power applications, focusing on battery-powered Bluetooth products such as smart wearables and wireless sensors. This series prioritises extreme power management, delivering excellent active and sleep current performance, alongside outstanding RF interference resistance. It supports the latest Bluetooth 5.4 features and integrates secure boot functionality, enabling rapid adaptation to large-scale IoT deployment scenarios.
- EFR32BG21 Series: The first Bluetooth SoC in the Series 2 platform, optimised for mains-powered BLE and Bluetooth Mesh applications, such as smart lighting, smart plugs and voice assistants. This series features an 80MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core, providing ample processing power. A dedicated security core enables rapid encryption, secure boot loading and debug access control. It supports the Bluetooth 5.1 protocol and delivers a maximum RF output power of 20dBm, ensuring stable communication in complex environments.
- BGM210P Series: Bluetooth modules based on the EFR32BG21 chip, featuring an optimised form factor and an integrated patch antenna. These modules meet the performance, security and reliability requirements of Bluetooth networks; with no need for additional RF circuit design, they can be directly embedded into products, significantly shortening the R&D cycle.

 

(3) Series 1 Bluetooth SoC/Module Series: An entry-level, cost-effective choice
This series is designed for entry-level applications, with cost-effectiveness and stability as its core advantages. It is suitable for cost-sensitive Bluetooth devices with relatively simple functional requirements, such as smart toys, simple sensors and Bluetooth adapters. Mingjiada Electronics provides comprehensive supply guarantees and supports small-batch procurement.
- EFR32BG12 Series: A Bluetooth SoC supporting Bluetooth 4.2/5.0 protocols, featuring 1MB of flash memory and 256KB of RAM. With a maximum RF output power of 30dBm and a receive sensitivity as low as -100dBm, it offers excellent communication range and anti-interference capabilities. Requiring no complex peripheral circuitry, it delivers outstanding value for money and is widely used in entry-level smart devices.
- EFR32BG13 Series: A compact Bluetooth SoC with 512KB of flash memory and 64KB of RAM. It offers stable RF performance and excellent power management, making it suitable for compact, low-power Bluetooth devices such as Bluetooth tags and simple wearable devices. It also supports basic security encryption functions to meet the security requirements of standard devices.
- BGM13P Series: An entry-level Bluetooth module developed based on the EFR32BG13 chip. It integrates an antenna and RF matching circuitry within a compact package, allowing for direct soldering and significantly lowering the R&D barrier for customers. It is suitable for mass-produced entry-level Bluetooth products.
